Our Company has been in full support of Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition (China Print). It is the 7th time for us to participate in this important event which will be held from 12th to 16th May, 2009 at the new China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. Our booth is situated in Hall E, No. E1-023. A complete Kolbus perfect binding line and two sets of Aster automatic book sewing machines will be on display. Representatives from all our Principals who are the leaders in the print finishing industry, such as Kolbus GmbH & Co. KG and Sigloch Maschinenbau Gmbh & Co. KG from Germany, Meccanotecnica S.p.A. and Emmeci S.p.A. from Italy will be present at the Show and they will be pleased to meet our customers to exchange ideas on book binding and rigid box making new technology and modern equipments.

Kao Asia is re-appointed as the sole Distributor by Emmeci S.p.A., Italy (who is the manufacturer of rigid box making machines and laminating-casemaking machines) for the Asian market, with a direct coverage of the following countries: Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China, Singapore and Malaysia with effect from 1st of April, 2009.

Our Company has delegated 7 members from our Servicing Department to Kolbus at Rahden, Germany for one-week’s intensive technical training in February, 2009. They are: Mr. Daniel Mok, the Manager of our Servicing Department; Mr. Chan Pak Fu, Mr. Chan Chi Kong and Mr. Chau Yiu Nin from Hong Kong; Mr. Brian Zeng and Mr. Davite Liao from Shenzhen; Mr. Bill Lu from Taiwan. Under the guidance of the educated tutors, our servicing colleagues have learnt a lot from them.

Attractively prices and simple to operate, the KM 600 is the ideal entry-level machine for professional bookbinding. Under control of the KOLBUS Copilot ® system, the KM 600 offers all the advantages that only a highly automated system can deliver.

Operating at up to 7,000 cycles/h., the KM 600 is engineered to run different binding processes. In addition to conventional EVA/PUR hotmelt processing with open glue application using gluing rolls, KOLBUS also offers an integrated nozzle applicator system. This KOLBUS innovation delivers major advantages for PUR binding applications, especially in the mid-range output area, where PUR glues are increasingly being used.

No matter if round corner cases, 4 or more piece cases or special formats like cases with a height of only 95 mm – the Kolbus DA 260 casemaker is the “allround” machine for all those products.

Ever since the summer of 2005 this new type of casemaker has been introduced, The 100th DA 260 was shipped by Kolbus in Feb. 2009, i.e. less than 4 years after its introduction to a customer who mainly produces cases for packaging for several industries. This machine is equipped with a special modification that will allow the production of 5-pieces cases (maximum possible on the DA 260 is 7-piece cases). In the outer pieces of board a magnet is placed allowing that the box can be closed and opened.

As of today on all five continents the Kolbus DA 260 is operating and is working very successfully. Quick make-ready times, easy to operate, high net output, and especially the flexible usage of the machine are the features of the DA 260 that are highly valued and appreciated very much by the owners and operators.
