Kao Asia Industrial Ltd. was established in April, 1980. At that time, the founder of the company, Mr. Paul Ko already had approx. 30 years experience in the graphic arts printing industry.

In response to and to cope with China's four modernizations campaign, Kao Asia has made great efforts to introduce into China market the most updated technology, the manufacturing and management systems for printing, bookbinding and packaging industries which had just been developed by the foreign countries. On one hand, professional scholars from foreign countries were invited into China to hold technical seminars about the new technology. On the other hand, the Company actively participated in the big machinery exhibitions held in China, so that the modern machinery could be shown to the industries in China. Over the years, we have invited many times some departmental leaders and technical experts in the related industries in China to form delegation groups to visit U.S.A. and Europe for the purpose of inspecting modern machinery, enabling the Chinese visitors to keep abreast with the high level of technical standard available in the world.

Even since its establishment, Kao Asia had been agents for selling a number of international renowned brands of printing, packaging and book-binding machinery, for example, Hantscho web-offset presses (U.S.A.), KOLBUS book binding machines (Germany), Bobst packaging machines (Switzerland), Schneider guillotines (Germany), MBO folding machines (Germany) and M.A.N.-Roland sheet-fed offset presses (Germany).

Because of the outstanding achievement, the machinery manufacturers had appointed Kao Asia to be their sole agents to sell their machinery into markets of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong etc. Business for the company had started to develop from here.

Kao Asia developed its business at a quick pace. Good reputation has been built up in China as well as in overseas markets. KOLBUS bookbindery machinery manufacturer in Germany had high appraisal on Kao Asia , and in June 1991 appointed Kao Asia to be sole agents for further markets – Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, on top of Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. Furthermore, in September 1998 KOLBUS has acquired interest of the company and become the major shareholder of Kao Asia Industrial Ltd.

In order to cope with the business development, besides setting up the Sales Department and the Administrative Department, the company has specially established its own Technical Service Department, to provide machine installation, maintenance service etc. to our customers. Kao Asia has its own well developed and competent service team. The servicing staff have often been sent to the machinery manufacturers in U.S.A. and Europe for training. They are able to provide a series of comprehensive aftersales services such as layout planning, installation, commissioning, technical and operational training, maintenance and repairing for the customers' imported machinery. We are also in a position to provide consultation services on design and purchase for the peripheral equipment in relation to the production lines. We have kept a huge quantity of spare part stocks in Hong Kong and China to cater for the needs of the customers in a timely and efficient way.

In order to enable the customers to keep a closer contact with us, Kao Asia has constantly set up branch offices. In 1995 we have set up a representation office and servicing unit in Shanghai. Our Shenzhen service centre was established in 2000. Our Taiwan Representative Office and then Branch Office were set up in 2001-02. Beijing representation office and Guangzhou branch office have been set up in 2003 and 2004 respectively. We aim to provide better after sales service to our customers.
